At the speed of wind ~ A la velocidad del viento

As many other things in this passed couple of weeks came from the past a heavenly wind, which has left the city full of sand everywhere and that has made me remember those years of childhood.

Besides the sun which covered me today from head to toes since the moment I woke up (something unusual in this city of cloudy sunrises), there was this friendly wind that was bringing the longing, my always mates nostalgias… and it stroke my hair, everyone of its curls and waves, rose them as it pleased, entangled them, and made a dance with the streaks of my hair, a tribute to itself, and then left them on my shoulders again.

I saw many people in the street resisted to participate of this veneration to the God of Wind, people who held their hair with their hands, rubber bands, hats and hands over them…. Or anything they found useful for that purpose. And well… yes, I can imagine f or many it must seem much less than flattering to see their hair rising up in the air on what seems to be a mess without rhyme or reason, getting home to find residues of nature hanging from their heads, like the little branch I found entangled in one of my curls just before I sat here to write.

I don’t know if there’s something wrong with me or what, but I think I prefer little branches entangled in my hair, undone curls, the extra volume that comes as a gift… instead of keeping my hair tied up, curls in their place, and missing the strokes of the wind.
